A 19-year-old single malt made with and of materials from the Balvenie grounds themselves, The Edge Of Burnhead Wood is the sixth instalment in the Balvenie Stories series. It is a robust single malt with delicate fig, orange and honey notes, accompanied a light spice and a backbone of toasted oak.
Through the winding paths and steep Speyside hills to a glorious moor of heather. This is the story of what would fondly come to be known as The Heather Trials, and how the people behind them helped create the first ever expression of The Balvenie made entirely with ingredients grown on its Dufftown estate.
The Balvenie Distillery is built on the stories that are told from each generation of craftsmen to the next. The Balvenie Stories range of three whiskies, is a collection of single malt whiskies representing tales of character, endeavour and craft.
Each whisky produced by The Balvenie tells a human story, evolving with the protagonists and developing unexpected twists through years of maturation.
Nose: Notes geranium oil, vibrant fig, with fresh herbal undertones
